About Us |
Raj Bukhsh Trust is a non profit, charitable organisation working for the advancement of education, health and welfare of the people, particularly those from the deprived and weak sections of society. The Trust operations aim at the realisation of fundamental human rights and freedoms, and promotion of understanding, tolerance and friendship amongst all people.
Raj Bukhsh Trust is a public trust. Its beneficiaries are the general public. They are not restricted to any class, tribe, group or area. The Trust has no political, religious, racial or ethnic interests. Its sole objective is service of suffering humanity without any distinction whatsoever.
The area of its operation is the whole of Pakistan, but at present the Trust is working in Pind Dadan Khan sub division of District Jhelum, which is situated about 150 kilometres from Islamabad. This area is amongst the most neglected and underdeveloped parts of the country. The Trust will extend operations to other areas gradually.
Raj Bukhsh Trust was founded at Rawalpindi in 1992 by Brig Muhammad Ashraf (Retd). The Trust Headquarters are located at Rawalpindi. Management of the Trust vests in a board of trustees comprising fourteen members. The Board is assisted by an executive committee and a council comprising eminent persons and experts.
Funds have been contributed by the trustees, council members, friends and philanthropists. As the Trust is a non profit, charitable organisation, it seeks assistance from individuals and donor agencies worldwide.
Raj Bukhsh Trust is registered under the Government of Pakistan Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance 1961. Donations to the Trust are exempt from Tax under Section 47 (1) (d) of the Income Tax Ordinance 1979. |
