Model Schools
After working several years on different projects, Raj Bukhsh Trust decided to establish independent Trust managed schools where resources could be utilised better and quality of education ensured.

Model School Sauwal
The Trust set up the first English Medium Model School at village Sauwal in April 1996. The school started in a small rented house  in the village with 59 students in classes Nursery,  Prep and One. In 1998-99 the Trust purchased 10  kanals of land outside the village and built a  school  building comprising an administrative block  and a class room block with eight class rooms at  a  cost of Rs 3 million. School shifted to the new  building in 1999. Later in 2001 the school building  was further expanded by addition of another class room block (8 class rooms) at a cost of Rs. 2.1 million, of which Rs. 1.7 million was granted by the Government of Japan through its Grass Roots Assistance Programme for Pakistan.
The school which started in a small village house in 1996 is now housed in a spacious building with modern facilities. In April 2003, it had 226 students from Nursery to Class 8. About 1/3rd of the students are girls. The school follows a modern curriculum and has a dedicated team of 15 teachers. The school has a good library with about 3000 books, a computer lab with 11 computers, necessary audio/video educational equipment and a small science lab. The school is designed to develop into a higher secondary school so that children entering the school in Nursery class could complete their basic education (class 12) in the same school.
In February 2003, Govt of Japan granted US Dollar 70,354 for further expansion and upgrading of the Raj Bukhsh Model School.

Model School Pind Dadan Khan
In 2002, the Trust decided to establish the second Model School at Pind Dadan Khan. Work on this project is now in progress. A modern school building is being constructed on a plot of 18 kanals near road junction Sodi - Pind Dadan Khan - Khewra. In the first phase an elementary school building comprising 10 class rooms with administrative offices/facilities is being constructed. Subsequently this will be expanded to meet the requirements of a higher secondary school. The first phase construction is estimated to cost Rs 7.5 million. Raj Bukhsh Trust has provided Rs. 4 million for the building which is under construction. The trust needs another 3.5 million to complete the building. Efforts are being made to raise the required funds.
The building is expected to be completed by end 2003. In the meanwhile classes for the new school have started in a rented house in Pind Dadan Khan City. The school will shift to new premises early 2004. The school at Pind Dadan Khan is to be organised on lines similar to the school at Sauwal. Admissions have been made in Nursery, Prep and Class-I. The school will grow in stages to higher secondary school.
