Training Center
In order to provide technical skills to boys leaving school at middle/high school level, the Trust established a Technical Training Centre at Pind Dadan Khan in Jan 1997, where six months courses in Electricity, Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Welding were organised. This programme aimed at enabling trainees to start their own business or to help them find jobs. The Centre was affiliated with Punjab Board of Technical Education for examinations.

The Technical Training Centre remained in operation for five years during which 302 young men were trained in different trades. Information available at the Centre showed that sizeable numbers (40-50%) of the trainees found jobs or started their own enterprises. Many however remained without jobs/occupation which led to gradual reduction of students and increase in cost of running the centre. This most useful facility had to be closed in May 2002 because of low intake and high expense. During the last two years the Centre was supported by Trust for Voluntary Organisations (TVO) Islamabad.

Vocational Traing Centers for Women
Raj Bukhsh Trust has been running two Vocational Training Centers for Women since 1994/97. One of these centers is located at village Sauwal while the other centre has been at village Dhudi Phapra, Jutana and Gharibwal for different periods. These centers are organised as integrated centers of learning. The main line of training is a one year course in tailoring, knitting and embroidery. Instruction is also arranged in subjects of health and hygiene, first aid and population welfare. Literacy classes are also organised for illiterate girls.
The two VTCs trained 250 girls in different courses up to April 2003. These centers have made significant impact on women uplift in this area. Girls trained at Raj Bukhsh Vocational Training Centers are working at home and are contributing to their family?s income. Some of them have opened small vocational facilities of their own to train other girls. Others have taken up jobs in government sponsored centers run by NGOs. This programme has also helped raise levels of education and awareness among women of this area. These centers also participate in Information Networking Programme of Aurat Foundation.
